Illustration of a historic interior with a spatial data overlay
Cultural heritage

Space and detail in one record.

Digital documentation helps conservators and site managers plan work, discuss observations and preserve a record of an asset’s condition.

For those caring for sites

A record before and after conservation work.

We choose a capture method that suits the geometry and sensitivity of the site. The record can support consultation, project planning and later review.

For those caring for sites

Where documentation helps

  • Historic interior with a spatial data overlay

    Historic interiors and room layouts

  • Timber roof structure of a historic attic with a drone

Attics, vaults, crypts and underground spaces

  • Close-up of a stone detail and brick wall

Details and surfaces needing closer examination

  • Illustration of a museum gallery with display cases and an environmental sensor

Collection spaces and their display conditions

Illustrative brochure imagery and a generated visualization of a collection gallery.

Handheld / COAX / RevSight

A method chosen for the site.

We combine walk-through documentation with a remote view of difficult access areas.

Operator scanning a historic interior
Handheld

Scan interiors while moving through them

The handheld scanner connects 3D geometry with imagery and records room layouts without GPS.

Drone in a historic attic
COAX

Review hard-to-reach spaces

The guarded drone is designed to gather imagery and spatial data indoors. We agree on a safe approach with the site custodian before flight.

Keep findings tied to a place

Spatial views connect with photos and descriptions, so teams can return to an exact area during consultation.

For conservation teams

A detail with a known location.

An observation can connect a description of visible condition, a photograph and a 3D model reference. It supports specialist review rather than giving an automatic diagnosis.

  • Surface imagery and interior geometry
  • Located observations with source material
  • Optional microclimate, lighting or thermal measurements

Working together

Begin with the purpose of the record.

Tell us about the site, the material needed and the access conditions.

01

Define the scope

Identify spaces, details and questions the record should support.

02

Choose the method

Agree on access, protection of delicate surfaces and relevant sensors.

03

Share the record

Organize the model, imagery and observations for consultation and future reviews.

FAQ

Questions about heritage documentation

Can a drone fly in every historic interior?

No. We assess geometry, access, airflow and the sensitivity of surfaces and furnishings with the site custodian first.

Which measurements can be linked to the model?

Depending on the task and configuration, these may include temperature, humidity, air quality, illuminance or thermal imagery. We agree on the scope in advance.

Does a 3D model replace a conservator’s assessment?

No. Models, imagery and measurements provide material for consultation. Interpretation and decisions on further studies or treatment remain with qualified specialists.
